Dubai madness!

I planned this trip 4 months ago as a mini escape from Delhi ( great opportunity to leave the kids behind with grandparents and escape).
My best friend of 32 years lives here and I wanted to surprise her. My hubby’s best friend lives in Singapore- he came to surprise my hubby as well. The surprises were a huge hit and we have been having a fantastic time!!
We are staying at the One and only Palm, a true oasis in this crazy city. It’s away from everything and truly a beautiful , small 90 room , 4 villa property.

Were are leaving tomorrow but had a relaxing trip in this city.
For our anniversary dinner we are at Santa Clara Sofitel at 1621. It was good food! My restaurant of choice was Carmen , at the Ananda hotel but since we couldn’t get a dinner reservation we did lunch there on the 29 th.

Though we couldn’t stay at Ananda as it was sold out, we relaxed by the pool, drank some delicious sangria and ate our favorite meal here.

The food at Carmen was absolutely fab! Asian inspired , bright and very bold flavors.
We needed a long walk after our lunch!

Cafe Mila was so good , we went back for coffee.

Our hotel has a roof deck. We spent a little time soaking up the city views.

I absolutely love the night time views here!

Lunch today was at Cafe Mulata. Absolutely delicious and open only for lunch!

Cartagena

We arrived here yesterday. 90 degrees, cool breeze and friendly, happy people. Staying at a botique hotel , San Pedro hotel and spa. The hotel has 8 homely rooms and a super friendly staff!

We did some spa treatments at the trendy Tscherassi hotel. We also ate here at the popular Italian ” Vera restaurant”.

Work trip

I left NYC on 12/2 to visit China, Hong Kong and India. One of my longest work trips, but it has been productive. I have had the pleasure of eating at some super amazing places and I highly recommend the below in Hong Kong.

Sevva- in central – amazing views and what delicious international cuisine.
A must , even though it’s not new anymore.!

Cafe grey deluxe- At the Upper house. Fantastic views and delicious food. Super new and popular. At pacific place.

Enomod- social dining off Hollywood road- casual , relaxed , tapas style. Budget friendly.

22 Ships-no reservation place in Wanchai- great innovative , tapas style food. We had a 1 hour wait but enjoyed drinking our wine on the street !!

Officially Nicolas Ghesquière is the artistic director of Louis Vuitton

After a long silence, the French fashion house, Louis Vuitton finally officially announced the name of the future artistic director of its women’s line. As expected, it is Nicolas Ghesquière .

The French designer like you know very well was for 15 years the head designer at another French fashion house, Balenciaga ,after starting his career working for designers like Jean Paul Gaultier and Thierry Mugler, Ghesquièrea will take immediately his position at Louis Vuitton. In a statement, Louis Vuitton said that Ghesquière give “a modern creative vision to the house’s women’s collections, building on the values of refinement, savoir faire and extreme quality.”

“Louis Vuitton has always incarnated for me the symbol of ultimate luxury, innovation and exploration,” Ghesquière said. “I am very honored of the mission that I am entrusted with, and proud to join the history of this great maison. We share common values and a vision.”
